We’re concise and thorough in each new patient evaluation and you’ll be impressed with the high quality history and evaluation we provide.
We’ll provide a diagnosis, treatment plan and even exercises that are tailored to your individual recovery goals. Wherever you are in-between treatments we are always here to provide help, guidance and support at any time.
In certain cases we may need to refer you for further studies. This is not common on a day to day basis but may be something we ask for before providing a definitive diagnosis and treatment. Rest assured that we will guide you to another form of care that is appropriate if need be.
Patient forms are worked through with your Croydon chiropractor or health professional. A history with details of the mechanism of the injury from when it started to the present are recorded. Other necessary information includes the nature of the symptoms, how they affect daily activities or interfere with sleep. A series of tests will be used by your health professional to help find where the problem is. These include testing sensation, muscle strength, joint ranges of motion and areas of tenderness.
A diagnosis will then be made and depending on the results further testing may be necessary including referral for scans like X-Rays, MRI, CT, Diagnostic ultrasound. Every patient is different and this decision is jointly decided between the health professional and the patient.
Your health professional will explain a treatment plan including recommendations for the number of visits and timeframe for improvement.
Treatments include massage techniques, mobilization ranges of joint motion and therapeutic modalities like ultrasound to help recovery.
Uniquely, your second visit enables us to get “straight to it.” Every second we have with you we will deliver therapy and build your path to recovery in the fastest, safest and most effective possible way.
The tests that were performed during the first visit are repeated and improvements are monitored. The session includes much more treatment time in comparison to the first visit. The time needed for second visits varies between each individual, their presenting condition and their health practitioner. Usually a treatment duration of between 10 and 30 minutes is needed on subsequent visits.
Your second treatment includes all forms of modalities described in your management plan and report of findings which your chiropractor would have provided to you on your first visit.
Forms of therapy include, but are not limited to:
- Therapeutic Ultrasound
- Heat/Cold Packs
- Trigger Points and Stretching
We may also show you through our rehab plan and use the rehab suites to demonstrate the safest way to train and rehabilitate an injury.
On an initial evaluation we spend between 15 and 30 minutes. Subsequent visits may take up to 15 minutes. Individual practitioners may vary in their approach to time needed for evaluation and treatment.
